Happy New Year!

Yes I am still around, just haven't been feeling very creative. I've read quite a few books though. January is almost over, where did those weeks go? I really lost my Mojo over the school holidays and haven't been doing any card making until the last week or so. It's slowly coming back as I am preparing for some classes starting early February. I'm back to work next week too.
So here are the cards we will be doing at the first class for 2012. Only a few people have booked so far, so if you are interested get in touch and book yourself a place. It's on Tuesday 7th February at 7pm. There is quite a bit of cutting out on the card on the right. Both cards use the gorgeous 'Flower Fest' stamp set from Stampin' Up!

I'm trying to get really organised and I've already organised the cards for the Stamp a Stack on 21st February too. If you haven't already booked in for this there are a couple of spots left.

November Stamp a Stack

I realized the other day that I had forgotten to photograph and post the cards from the final stamp a stack for the year. We did ten Christmas cards. Unfortunately by the time I remembered I had actually sent some of them off to the UK. So here are photos of some of the cards we made, quality isn't too good either as the light wasn't the best when I took the photos.

Summer Mini Catalogue Launch

Here is the third card we made on Tuesday night. It's a very simple card using the new Stampin' Up! embossing folder 'Flower Garden'. Then I've coloured in by picking up the ink from markers scribbled on to a tile, using an Aquapainter.

SU Summer Mini Catalogue - out on 1st December

Here are a couple of cards we will be making at my 2011 - 2012 Summer Mini Catalogue Launch night on Tuesday 6th December. There will be a third project made on the night too. You will have to come along to see what that is!

The first card is made using a new DSP in the mini called Spice Cake, It is really gorgeous and the colours in it are Pear Pizazz, Pool Party, More Mustard, River Rock, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede. There are large matching buttons (see in the centre of the flower). I have stuck a circle of the paper in the middle of the button. I think they are going to be very versatile for cards and scrapbooking. I can imagine them on a scrap page with a photo in the centre. I've used the flower from the Blossom Party Die, embossed with the embossing folder - Petals a Plenty. The Sentiment stamp is from the hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes and the trim is made using the Lace Ribbon Border.

This second card uses the sparkly new embossing powder Iridescent Ice, and the gorgeous silver and red Glimmer Paper. There's a Glimmer brad there, to add to the Bling effect, and the sentiment is from the Heard From the Heart set.

Patchwork Bag using the Big Shot

I bought the fabric ages ago, (before Stampin' Up! started selling fabric). I have been meaning to attempt one of these bags since then. So during the last school holidays I finally got around to it.

I used the scalloped Square die and the Big Shot to cut out all the pieces. You can cut through eight layers of material at a time! I cut out the coordinating fabrics and the same number of squares in a lime green fabric, that is on the inside of the bag. I also cut out squares of wadding to go in between the two squares. I cut them by hand slightly smaller so that the wadding wouldn't show when the squares were joined together. I made a 'sandwich of the lime, wadding + coloured fabric and stitched each of these together with an X through the middle, then joined them all together to form the bag.

I made this felt flower as the fastner.

Even though it isn't really my style, I was quite please with the final result.

Back to cards. Here is a couple of photos of the Stamp a Stack cards from last week. Another marathon night, I never learn do I! I really am determind to make the next lot of Stamp a Stack cards more simple.

These bottom cards were made using the 'one sheet wonder' technique. We used the Delicate Doilies stamp set and the colours are Tempting Turquoise, Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo.

Fashion Parade pictures (proud Mum).

This is nothing to do with card making, papercraft or anything like that, but I just wanted to share with you. We were in Perth last weekend to attend a couple of fashion parades. One was designs by students from the Central Insitute of Technology, and the other was part of the Perth Fashion Festival. It was the Students Runway, featuring outfits designed by some of the top fashion design students in the state.

This is the outfit our daughter designed and made for the Perth Fashion Festival, Student Runway. She made the head dress too!

The outfits below were what she made for the student parade.

October Technique Class, plus more

This is what we are making at the October Technique class. Everyone's colours may vary, but this is the design. The girls at stamp club made them on Thursday night and loved them. Hope you like them too. We are using the new In Colours, and here I used Calypso Coral, Island Indigo and Pool Party.

Below are the cards we made at the last Stamp a Stack. We did five general cards and five Christmas cards.

On these cards we used lots of different Stampin' Up! punches, including the new triple layer Blossom Bouquet punch on the black card. Did you recognise the owl punch there on the tulip card?

Stamp Club Gift

August saw the end of our Stamp club, though another one is starting in September. For the final meeting in August I made all the girls a little handbag and put some bits and pieces & chocolates inside. These bags are so cute, I think we will make these at the next technique class. I saw this idea made by Tina White a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

This is how i looks when you open it up. I used velcro to fasten it.

I have been outside taking some photos, but when I came in to upload them my camera battery went flat. So now I have to wait for that to recharge. I'll be back, but maybe not today, we will see. I am suposed to be designing cards for the next stamp a stack!

New IB&C Launch Nights

Hi everyone,

For those of you who didn't make it to one of my Launch Nights here are some pictures of what we made.

I really wish I took some photos of everyones bagalopes. This is mine below, but everyone's looked different. We all used the new DSP Just Add Cake'. There are so many different colours in this set they all ended up being very varied. The flowers were made with the "Blossom Party" originals die. I love them, don't you?

This card below was made with Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and a little bit of Peach Parfaitt card stock. The ribbon is the new Scallop Dots Ribbon, the stamps are the butterfly from 'Summer Solstice' and the sentiment is from 'Happiest Birthday Wishes' (hostess set). The embossed border is the Tulip Border embossing folder and the bottom edge is decorated using the Eyelet Border Punch. A simple yet stunning card.

Finally this card I saw on SCS and thought it was a great way to not only show off the new stamp set Pennant Parade and the matching Petite Pennants Builder Punch, but also the gorgeous new In Colours.

I think everyone who came along had a good time and liked all the projects we made. They also loved their new Idea Book and Catalogue. It is a lovely catalogue and full of gorgeous things. Thanks to everyone who did come along and to everyone who placed an order. I appreciate your support.

The card below is another card made using the 'Summer Solstice' set. I made this following a tutorial by Michelle Zindorf who is a fabulous artist, cardmaker & SU Demo in the USA. The card stock I used are Baja Breeze, Whisper White and Island Indigo. the DSP is the retired 'Newsprint'. This card makes me think I really need to do more colouring in. It really is very satisfying and theraputic (sp?) Especially when you have a master like Michelle Zindorf leading you every step of the way.

It's a beautiful afternoon here, I should get outside and take some more photos of sample cards I made using the pre order products I got from the new catalogue. More goodies should be arriving next week, I can't wait for that, and I'm already working on another order. I'm sooooo bad!!!

Online Technique Class

I took part in my first online technique class yesterday. I've recently joined Crafters Anonymous and they hold regular classes there. We did the shadow technique, you stamp your image in Whisper White ink and then with the help of a Stamp a majig restamp slightly off set with a darker colour. This gives a shadow effect. I found it quite hectic trying to create a card and follow the chat on the screen, plus add a bit to the chat too. I ended up with the card below, it's quite basic but not bad for my first on line experience. Thank you to all the ladies over at Crafters Anonymous for making me feel so welcome.

The colours I used were Bravo Burgundy and Pear Pizazz with a little bit of Whisper White. Ooohhhhhh!!! did you notice that gorgeous bit at the bottom of the card? That's a bit of a sneak peak of one of the new punches in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up!Idea Book and Catalogue. Isn't is fabulous, I love it! I'm sure that will be very popular.

August Stamp a Stack Cards

I shouldn't be doing this I should be tidying up and getting ready for the ladies who are coming over tonight to make these cards. Oh well, it will get done, eventually. Hope you like the cards. Five Christmas cards and five others, using patterned paper. I'm always looking for ways to use up some of the Designer Series Paper that I have. It seems to accumulate, and I really do have to make myself use it. These are all retired long ago, so I need to get rid of them so that I can make room for some of the lovely new papers in the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalogue - Starts on 1st September. Contact me if you would like a copy of the catalogue. There are some really gorgeous new things in there!!

This card is my favourite from the non Christmas ones. I really like the flower, it was made using the Big Shot and the Originals "Blossom Party" die. The colours are Real Red and Pumpkin Pie. I have a spare pack due to a cancellation tonight so I might just make another of these cards and make it into a birthday card.

I'm not sure which of the Christmas cards is my favourite, but this one is nice (well they all are, aren't they?) I am a Green & Blue sort of girl. Not sure if you can tell from the photo but the JOY is cut out and mounted up, on dimensionals.

Embossing - Technique Class Cards

Last week the Technique of the Month class was embossing, we did heat embossing using a heat gun, plus dry embossing using embossing folders and the Big Shot. I think everyone enjoyed the class and was impressed with the end results. I always think that embossing is impressive. Dry embossing always adds class to a card, and heat embossing is just so magical. I love watching as the powder turns to a glossy coating. Here are the two cards we made. The girls at my Stamp Club made the brown card too. I hope you like them.

Last night I finished designing the cards for the next Stamp a Stack. So now I am thinking about what we will do at the NEW 'Idea Book & Catalogue' Launch Nights.
It's so exciting! I am expecting my pre order and copy of the catalogue to arrive early next week. I have had a look at the catalogue on line, but it's never to same as holding that book in your hands and flicking through the pages. I have to say I am very excited about all the gorgeous new things in there. I really can't wait til 1st September when we can start ordering all of it.

INKlings Christmas in July Blog Hop

How quick is this year going! Have you started to think about your Christmas cards and projects yet? The INKlings team has and we thought that this month was the perfect time to host a Christmas in July blog hop. You'll find lots of great ideas provided by 15 team members’ fantastic blogs.

Here are five of the cards from my July Stamp a Stack. We are making five Christmas cards each month now until the end of the year. These cards were so simple to make. I used three main colours Old Olive, Pacific Point and Melon Mambo. I cut different sized triangles out of DSP in each of these colours and you can see the results. I think they are simple but effective. Hope you like them.

I purchased a template to make this star box from "My time made easy". This is the first time I have attempted to make it. It's not perfect, but I think it's ok. The colours are Real Red, Garden Green and Whisper White. The star in the middle is the SU XL Star punch in Garden Green and I used a dauber to add Frost White shimmer paint.

The other little bag is a Bagalope. This is made from a regular (you can use any size you want) envelope. My envelope was a shimmery green one and I have decorated it by heat embossing the So Swirly wheel in gold.

To make the bagalope:

Seal up the envelope.

Trim off one end (side of the envelope) to make the opening at the top of the bag. You can use decorative scissors or a border punch if you like.

Score each side and the bottom at approx. 1.5cms from edge (adjust this measurement if using a larger envelope). Make sure these folds are nice and crisp use your bone folder for that.

Open the folds while you decorate the bag.

Once decorated, pop out the sides and form a bag by pushing the centre folds on each side in and the scored fold out.

Bring the bottom corner squares into a point and stick with Sticky Strip to the bottom of the bag.

I used the Word Window punch and small circle punch and threaded Real Red satin ribbon through to close the bag. You could add a piece of card stock attached at the back and folded over as a flap.

Finally, I have made this cute Christmas Cracker gift box. I cased this idea from Delyn Cram a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I used a card stock that I have only recently discovered (& I've been a demonstrator for several years!). It's Naturals Ivory see page 122 in the IB&C. I also used Marina Mist card stock and satin ribbon and Soft Suede Patterned Paper from the DSP Neutrals Paper Stack.

I stamped the DSP using VersaMark ink and gold embossing powder with the Jumbo wheel Sassy Sparkles. Then repeated that on each end of the cracker.

July Stamp a Stack Cards

I really like the effect of the square punch with two opposite corners rounded. It even makes pretty good leaves if you fold it and run it through the crimper on an angle, as seen on the pink and green card (top right).

June Stamp a Stack Cards

Here are the cards from the stamp a stacks this month. The five above are made by cutting shapes out of scrap paper and then sponging the shape onto a card front and then stamping an image over that. Very simple, no layers.

The others used the die cuts from the Bigz XL Die "Tasteful Trimmings", and the Stampin' Up! designer series paper Elegant Soiree. Several of these cards could be used for males, which is handy because we don't seem to make so many masculine cards.

Fossil Stone Technique

Hi Everyone,

These are the two cards we made at the Technique of the Month class earlier this month. The technique is the Fossil Stone technique. It is such a simple technique and gives so many different results everytime you do it. When we made these cards everyone's cards turned out different even though we all used the same ink colours.

The colours for the first card are Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Whisper White, with some old olive ink for the swirls in there too. We made the Fossil Stone background pattern on Gloss White cardstock and then using the Big Shot and Bigz XL Flower Folds die made the flower. In the centre of the flower we used the scalloped circle punch a circle punch (embossed with the SU Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder), then right in the middle is the small flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch set, which is still available, carried over from the Summer mini catalogue. In the background you can see the Baroque Motifs swirly stamp and more of the small flower punches with small pearls on them. The ribbon is Daffodil Delight satin ribbon.

The next card we put the Fossil stone technique on to the card front and onto a seperate piece of White Gloss Cardstock, where we later stamped the surfer (Extreme Surfboard) and the greeting (Bring on the Cake). The cardstock used were Gloss White, Whisper White, Old Olive & Marina Mist. The inks were Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, Old Olive & Stazon Black. The Marina Mist Stampin' Write Marker was used to colour in the word Birthday. I used the Big Shot and the Bigz XL Tasteful Trim die for the trim at the bottom of the card.

Stamp Club Gift

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I have had these photos on my camera for ages and thought I should pull my finger out and get round to sharing them with you all. These are the gorgeous gifts made by Naomi, one of the girls in my stamp club. When it was her turn to be hostess she made all the girls in the stamp club, plus me, one of these beautiful candel holders. She made them using the Stampin' Up! Ornament Extra Large Punch.
Thanks Naomi, we all really appreciated the trouble you went to.

Here are a couple of baby cards I made last weekend. Hope you like them.

I cased the punch art baby rattle from Marija Paic, a SU demonstator on the demonstrators forum - Stampin' Connection. It's amazing what you can create with a little bit of imagination and a few punches.

It's been a while since I posted any photos of cards, a month to be precise! So thought I had better brighten up the blog a bit with a couple of photos. All these deals are great, but everyone likes to see a few pictures too.
My next Technique class on 7th June is the Fossil Stone technique, so here is a card I made while experimenting with this technique. This isn't one of the cards we will be making at the class, but I hope you like it.

The second card is one I made using the 'Strength & Hope' Stamp set from Stampin' Up! I'm not sure if I have already mentioned this, but Stampin' Up! are donating $2.00 from every one of these stamp sets sold to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Clean and Simple Cards

These aren't the best photos, but you get the idea. These are the cards we will be making at the Stamp a Stack next Tuesday. I like the cards in the bottom photo the best. I got a card from my up-line Jayne Mercer for my birthday and that is where I got the idea for these cards from.

Thank you to Sandra who popped over this afternoon. She ended up pointing me in the right direction. I was having lots of problems with my blog, but hopefully now everything is running smoothly.

Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue Launch

Here are the three projects we made last Tuesday. They each included at least one product from the new Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue. The Top Note gift box on the left uses the stamp set Strength & Hope. (For each set of Strength & Hope stamps sold Stampin' Up! is donating $2 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation). We also used the new Decorative Lable punch on this box.

Next the blue card shows the individual stamp Sail Away. This stamp is great for masculine cards and a bargain at only $14.95. On this card we used the crayon resist method to keep the sails white, then went over the whole area with the brayer to colour the sky and the sea.

Finally the bright card with the flower. Here we used the Framed Tulips embossing folder along with the Big Shot. The button in the centre of the flower is new too that's a Designer Big Button. They come in a pack of 48 in three designs and three colours. Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.

Hope you like them, we had a fun night and it was nice to see some old familiar faces back.

These are the two cards we made at the last technique class and at our Stamp Club get together

The pink card is Pretty in Pink and Whisper White with a little bit of Pear Pizzaz. We used the level one hostess sets Birthday Bakery and After Thoughts. Here is a great video tutorial to make this card.

These cards are so lovely and bright. We used Tempting Turquoise, Real Red Yoyo Yellow (retired) and Very Vanilla. The flowers have the Itty Bitty Buttons in the centres.

Everyone loved these cards, I hope you do too.
Next Tuesday I'm having a is a Stamp a Stack, it's fully booked but I thought I would give you all a sneak peak at what we are making. Pop back soon and I will take some photos to show you. I will also show you what we made last week at the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue Launch.

So, eight things about me:

1 I am very indecisive, it takes me ages to decide about things. ( I'm sitting here thinking should I write that!!)

2 I eat way too much chocolate.

3 I would love to loose 10kgs, (#2 isn't helping with that).

4 I make cards almost everyday.

5 Most mornings I have breakfast at the computer and check out emails, the Stampin' Up! demonstrators site, Inklings forum and my favourite blogs.

6 I enjoy reading a good murder book. At the moment I am working my way through Michael Connelly's books.

7 I watch Home & Away.

8 Our two girls don't live near us, one in Fremantle and one in England, but I love to catch up with them on Skype. It's so good being able to see them, makes them seem so much closer.

Lattice Card

Tonight is Stamp Club and we are making a lattice card. I saw this card made by a SU demo by the name of Valita. She is a very clever lady and comes up with some fabulous designs. So thank you to her for this idea. The colours I've used are Always Artichoke, Peach Parfait and Whisper white (flowers before sponging). I used the Boho Blossom and the Five Petal Flower punches and the Very Vintage jumbo wheel. The butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings Embossilits Die and I've added a bit of sparkle by spritzing the flowers and the butterflies with Gold Shimmer Spritz.

We are making the same card and a box to put it into at the technique class next week. This card would be too bulky to put into an envelope so a matching box with a belly band is just the thing to present it in.

Finally some photos!

Here are some photos of the Stamp a Stack cards for February. I did actually hold a Stamp a Stack during the school holidays for a group of ladies who can't make it to my Tuesday night classes. These are the cards we made then, and what we are doing next week. You might notice in the first photo there are actually six cards. That's because the pink cards are the same bits and pieces and I gave everyone a choice of which one to make. Originally I made the wedding card, then I thought not everyone would use a wedding card, so made the alternate as well.

Here are the next five cards:

I tried to make them all quite varied, so that they will suit lots of different people and different occasions too.

Here are pictures of the cards we will be making for the March Stamp a Stack. The first set of cards uses a very simple but effective technique called Inlaid Embossing. You simply punch out a shape stick it onto another piece of cardstock and put it through the Bigshot (or Cuttlebug) in an embossing folder. See the card below for a close up of this technique.

The second lot of cards I used a wheel on all except the top right hand card. I just didn't have another wheel that seemed to look right for this design of card. So I used Pocket Silhouettes. I also used various punches to decorate the edges. I hope the ladies who have booked in for my Stamp a Stacks are going to like these cards!

I have to say that I am impressed by myself, being so organised as to have two months of Stamp a Stacks sorted out already!!

Secret Santa Unwrapped

This is what was in all those gorgeous little parcels I had under my Christmas Tree. I feel very spoilt! I'm sure Secret Santa blew the budget with all these gifts. There is all five colours of the in colour ribbons, four different colours of the 1 -1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon, the Floral Fusion Sizzlits Die, Adhesive Eraser, Music Notes Wheel, Baby Steps stamp, Assorted Brads and lots of little Dairy Milk chocolates yum! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Secret Santa. I have made a guess as to who it is in the Inklings Team that spoilt me so much, but I haven't heard if my guess is correct yet.

Hi Everyone

Just thought I would show you a few of the things I have been making.

Thanks to Trudi for giving me some of these long thin cello bags. I made these cuties and put them in with the final orders for the 2010 stamp club. They would be great for kids parties too. I hope all the girls like them, I will be delivering the orders today.

I made these flowers using the Sweet Treat Cups and the Ornament Punch. I gave each of the girls in stamp club one at our last meeting. I also gave them a glass with a candle, chocolates and a bag of assorted embelishments in it. Just a little thank you for being in Stamp Club and for their support and friendship.

Finally here is a picture of what I got from my Secret Santa. I feel very spoilt with all those gifts to open. Yes, I got all 12 gifts from one Secret Santa, I must have been Very, Very Good! Some of them had popped open in the mail (honestly I didn't touch them!!) So I have seen a couple of the things in there, but I am waiting for Christmas Day to open them all up properly. Thank You Secret Santa.

I probably wont be back on here until next year, so have a safe and happy Christmas everyone.

Here are the cards we made this week at the Stamp a Stack. There were five Christmas cards and five other cards. As you can see we used the Top Note Die for the Christmas cards. They were quick and simple to make, and I think they are very effective.

These next five cards I tried to make them varied to suit male, child and female with an engagement, wedding or anniversary one thrown in there for good measure.

I think everyone liked them and had fun making them. Our next Stamp a Stack is on 9th December and we will be making Ten Christmas cards. Just in time to get them mailed out for Christmas.

I am taking names of people interested in joining the 2011 Stamp Club, which starts late January 2011. If you are interested or would like further details please contact me.

November Technique Class

This week we made three items that I think would be suitable for small gifts for Christmas or any other time of the year (well, maybe not the calendar, you can't really give one of those in July???). The first thing we made was this really cute box with a window, there's no stamping at all involved in this one. It was just cutting, scoring, sticking and 'Bobs your uncle,' there you have it. I did use my Big Shot to cut out the window, but you could use a craft knife or a punch instead of that.

Then we made the Easel card/desk top calendar with post it notes and a pen. Another simple project that everyone loved. The final item was a gift card holder made from an envelope. It's a bit hard to see exactly what it is like in this photo.

The girls in my Stamp Club made the box on Wednesday and have requested they make the calendar at our next get together.

This weekend I am busy getting organised for next weeks Stamp a Stack. I have all the cards designed and now my job this afternoon is to cut up all the card stock required.

Girls Night In Challenge

Jayne Mercer held a Girls Night In on the weekend to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. If you couldn't attend the evening you could still participate in the stamping challenges, via her blog. I left it a little late to get involved, but last night I did do one of the challenges and here is the result. Challenge three was to find a card in the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalogue and turn it PINK. I used the owl card at the top of page 105, and here is my version of it.

Scrapbooking, Not Really!!

It was my Mum's 80th Birthday in August. I went up to Perth to surprise her. I took some photos on the day and I have just got around to putting them into a book for her. I'm not really a scrapbooker, so there is nothing fancy about the book. Well the cover is pretty and that is as far as it goes. I made the book with card stock and DSP and put it all together with my bind it all. I know my Mum will love it and that is the main thing. Those of you out there that are scrappers, don't look!

Local Ag. Show

Last weekend was our local agricultural show. I entered some of my cards for the first time. Each year I go along and look at things and think I should have a go at that, but that's as far as it goes. This year I pulled out my finger and had a go. It was a lot of work getting ready for it, because I entered the two categories of cards three times each. Each entry was three assorted cards, so I had to have eighteen cards. Plus I entered another category - three small gifts suitable for Christmas. I feel like I'm bragging but I was pleased with how I went and I got the First place in the small gift category and First and Second in each of the card categories (not many people entered).
So today I will show you some of the things I made for the show. I even decorated the inside of the cards, as you will see in some of the photos.
Firstly here are three Christmas cards, I really love the Delightful Decorations and Dasher, they are gorgeous stamp from Stampin' Up! and the matching Large Ornament punch makes creating gorgeous Christmas cards easy. The third card isn't Stampin' Up!, it's a stamp I have had for a long time.

This next card I made using the hostess set "Cuter By The Inch" and it really is a cute set. I used Whisper White, Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist colours, I think this combination looks crisp and fresh.

Just lately it seems I can't get enough of Butterflies! Don't you think these are gorgeous? There's hardly any stamping at all on this card. It uses Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla along with the 'Beautiful Butterflies' Bigz Die, 'Beautiful Wings' Embosslits Die and the 'Elegant Lines' Embossing folder. Add the Large Oval, Scalloped Oval and the Scallop Trim Border Punches and a couple of Stampin' Up!s gorgeous stick on Pearls and there you have it.
Oh look, another butterfly, this time it's on a lattice card that I cased from Valita.

This card was going to be a tri shutter card, but something went wrong, so I fiddled around and turned it into this. I was rather pleased with the results. Those flowers on the front were made with some of the packing paper that comes in a Stampin' Up! order.

The next two cards use the Baby Wipe method to colour the backgrounds. Fold up a baby wipe cloth and drip reinkers along the cloth then drag it (or in what ever direction you would like) across glossy cardstock.

Finally!! I hope no-one has fallen asleep looking at my blog. This has been a rather long post!! I am really loving this cute little owl and I'm sure you are going to see quite a lot of him/her around here. I used Early Espresso card and ink with the background stamp Woodgrain for the tree and the Best Wishes sign post. I used a scalloped circle and sponged Bashful Blue ink on Whisper White card to create the cloudy background. The crimper and paper snips were used for the grass.

New Idea Book & Catalogue Things!

Yay! I have finally found a few moments to have a bit of a play with some of my new things. Only a little play though, I've been busy with a couple of launch nights this past week, and a workshop the week before. On top of all that we have been really busy at work so I am definately looking forward to the school holidays.
Below are the projects that everyone made at my launch nights. The small gift card and origami box were made using Very Vanilla, Real Red and Basic Black card stock, and the new DSP Newsprint. We also used the new stamp For You Flower and the matching Fancy Flower XL punch. There's a little bit of Real Red ribbon and Old Olive ribbon there too. (My sample has a Vanilla base to the box, but I decided the base looked better in black so everyone else did that.) We used the Fancy Flower punch to make the flower on top of the box too. I think everyone was a little bit nervous about all the scrunching and screwing up we did on the flower, but they loved the results.

This was the third item that everyone made. This card uses the Medallion stamp as the main feature, but we also used Teeny Tiny Sentiments and Petal Pizzazz. The ink and card colours are Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point , and we used the 1 1/4" circle, 1 3/8" circle and scalloped circle punches. There's a rhinestone brad there in the middle of the flower, and we used a dauber for the sponging around the edges. I did get the idea for this card from someone on the Stampin' Up! demonstrators website.

All these things were made before my big order from the new Idea Book & Catalogue arrived. Thank goodness demonstrators get to pre order from new catalogues. My real order arrived on the day of my first launch night. So I opened the boxes and had a quick look but had to restrain myself. I didn't have time to do anything more than look. With another launch the next night I had to wait another day.
I had put my name down to take part in a swap of cards made with products from the new catalogue, so I really did have to get in there and start inking up those new stamps. I made a card using the Delightful Decorations stamp set and the Sassy Sparkles jumbo wheel. The sentiment is from the Many Merry Messages set. I used the new XL Ornament punch that matches the Delightful Decorations set and the Contempo Christmas set. Card stock and inks are from the new In Colors Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzazz plus Whisper White card stock. I think it looks great. I hope you like it. I imagine those of you who attend my card making nights might be seeing this or a version of this card sometime soon.

Demonstrators could do a pre order of a selection of items from the new book, but the things I was really keen on didn't happen to be in that selection. Of course I still managed to pre order some things. However yesterdays order was slightly larger :)

Scrap IN

On the weekend I attended a Scrap IN . Scrapping (cardmaking or whatever craft you wanted to do) weekend, it was organised by Corrina, Rachael and Naomi, and was a fund raiser for the Cancer Council. Congratulations ladies you did a great job! and you even managed to do lots of scrap booking too. I didn't really get that much accomplished, but I did a few things. I made a birthday card for my mum. It's her birthday this coming Friday.

A card organiser for myself, I've made about five of these in the past but have given them all away as presents.

I received a calendar from my upline Jayne last year so I took that along and used it to figure out how to make one. I thought that it would make a good class later in the year. The calendars are nice little presents for friends and teachers etc.

The final thing I made was a baby card for a friend/customer who has just had a baby girl. I used the new jumbo wheel 'Baby Tees' available in the new catalogue.

Hope you like them, everyone else seemed to be making heaps of stuff. I told them it was quality not quantity that counts!

Well how about this twice in one day. Here are the photos of last weeks Stamp a Stack. We made five Christmas Cards and five general purpose cards with a Father's Day card in there for good measure.
The Christmas cards used a new stamp set I recently got 'Christmas Classics'. It is in the 2009-2010 catalogue and will be in the new catalogue too, which starts in just one weeks time.

I'm so sorry I have been very slack at updating my blog. I was sick and I have been / still am very busy, but I am so sorry I haven't got on here and at least put up a few photos or something

Earlier I promised I would update you on my holiday. Well that seems a bit overwhelming here's the short version. We spent a month in England visiting our daughter. We spent the majority of our time in Leeds in Yorkshire (that's where she and her partner live). We had a long weekend in St Ives, Cornwall and another weekend in London. While in London we saw two shows - Phantom of the Opera and Pricilla Queen of the Desert (should that be desert or dessert??? you know what I mean).

It was really lovely being over there and seeing where she lives and works etc and everything was very pretty and green and leafy. They have beautiful parks and gardens over there. In St Ives (lots of other places too) there were gorgeous hanging baskets and window boxes every where you looked.

My husband was amazed by the tides in St Ives. The beach there was so different to here. He took hundreds of photos of the different stages of the tide!!!

The public transport over there is brilliant and we did most of our travelling around on buses or trains. Did quite a bit of shopping. Mainly looking but did buy one or two things.

The night before we left we went to Opera in the Park and that was a lovely way to finish off the holiday. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best but we still had a great night.

Hi Everyone,

I'm back from my holiday, but more about that later. Big news for today is the Stampin' Up! Last Chance List is out! The current Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue has been around for quite a while, due to the change over being changed from April to September. Finally we are in the last month and today sees the release of the 'Last Chance List'. What used to be known as the Retiring List. So to find out what isn't going to be making it into the new catalogue, check it out here . If there is anything on that list that you really want, contact me sooner rather than later to place an order.

The list looks very long, but just remember it contains all those colour products that are retiring. Also, all the punches are going, but they will be back (plus some new designs), all in the new style - like the Extra Large Two Step Bird punch in the Autumn Winter mini catalogue. Items on the list will be available until the end of August, or until stock lasts. ie once it runs out that is it. Already out of stock is Close to Cocoa A4 cardstock and Sweet Slumber specialty Designer Series Paper.

Evie's Birthday Card

My daughter was invited to a first birthday party (it's her friend's daughter who's turning one). She showed me the invitation which featured bunting and said that the little girl's room is decorated with bunting. So I volunteered to make a card, and naturally stuck with the same theme. It's a plain and simple card using Baja Breeze, Ridinghood Red and Very Vanilla with the specialty papers from 'Sweet Slumber'. I don't think Evie will care less about her card, but I hope her Mum likes it.

Patchwork Cards & Others

Hi Everyone

Here are the pictures of last week's technique class cards. We made two different Patchwork cards. They were so quick and easy to do and everyone enjoyed making them. Everyone was gone before 9 o'clock, that's a first!

The first card uses the Tangerine Tango DSP and Tangerine Tango Cardstock, along with Whisper White and Basic Black. I use the Weathered Background stamp on the base card and the sentiment is from Pocket Silhouette. The Word Window Punch was used and a couple of black brads.

The second card uses the papers from the 'CottageWall' DSP pack, plus Rich Razzelberry and a little bit of Whisper White and Pale Plum. I used the Big Shot with the Top Note Die and the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. Punches used were the Scallop Oval, Large Oval and Small Oval plus the now retired Spring Flower Bouquet. The 'Hello' is from the Share a Cup stamp, and there is a Rhinestone brad in the centre of the flower which was sponged with a little bit of Pale Plum ink.

I've had a couple of workshops over the last two weeks so thought I would share some of the cards I made for them.

This birdhouse card was photographed a little bit crooked, sorry.

This card was made in Apricot Appeal(shown here) and also in Almost Amethyst both colours looked very nice. I CASED this card from my upline Jayne Mercer. The stamp set is the level two hostess set available in the Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue.

I'm going on holiday soon, hopefully I will get back here before I go, but if I don't, and things get a bit quiet you know why.

I Think Punch Art Might Be Addictive

The more you look at Punch Art the more you want to do it! After the technique class a few weeks ago and then the tractor, now I've added another punch art card to my collection.

A few days ago I was asked if I had any stamps with sheep or shearing sheds on them, but the answer was no. Then I started thinking about punch art, had a quick look around on the internet, saw quite a few different versions of sheep and started to fiddle around with punches. Here is what I came up with.

Retiring Colours Running Low!

With our recent Colour Renovation announcement, we have experienced an increase in demand for some of our retiring colours. We need to clarify that beginning now, all retiring colour products are available only while supplies last. As we run out of retiring items, you may notice that they are no longer available in OEX. This does not refer to items that go on backorder; these orders will be fulfilled. While our Australian and New Zealand markets have not run out of any retiring products, we may before the new catalogue begins on 1 September.

Although the cost to reorder and airfreight additional retiring colour products to cover extra sales would be immense, the decision is not strictly a financial one; we have always been committed to doing what is right for you. If it were simply a matter of placing additional orders for retiring products and taking a financial hit, the decision would be made to do so. The main problem is that, if we place orders for the discontinuing products, we run the risk of postponing product production of our new colours. To begin the new Stampin' Up! year without inventory of our new colours would be tragic.

You may be asking yourself: Didn't Stampin' Up! anticipate increased demand on retiring colours? The quick answer is yes, we did. The long answer is a bit more complicated. We based our forecasts for these retiring colours on historical sales information from previous colour transitions, as well as current buying behaviours. Obviously, even with the most careful planning, the response to a transition of this nature can surprise everyone--including you in your own business and personal purchases!

So it looks like if you were thinking of stocking up on any of the retiring colour products, - inks, refills, cardstock, markers etc, it might be better to do it sooner rather than later! Go here to see the retiring colours.

Fox & Friends Joins Circle Circus

I promised the ladies booked into the Stamp a Stack next week that I would show the pictures of the cards we are making here. So here they are. We are making ten cards. Five of one design and five of another, well that's the general idea of a stamp a stack but I always try to make my cards the same but different. The five cards using Fox and Friends are all very similar. Where as the Circle Circus cards are all quite different. They were made using the one sheet wonder technique, where you stamp a design all over a sheet of paper and then cut it into various shapes and sizes and make those pieces into matching, yet different cards. I hope you all like them. Especially those of you who will be coming on Tuesday!!

I hope you have all had an enjoyable weekend. The weather has been very kind here in Esperance.

Beautiful Blogger Award

Thank You to Sandybeaches for sending me this award. I am very flattered. I received it a couple of weeks ago, but with the bloghop and everything else I put it aside until now.

So according to the rules as I understand them, I now have to tell you ten things about myself and pass the award on to other Beautiful Bloggers.

Ten things about me:

1. I am in bed as I write this and I am never having a flu injection again! Had one a week ago and feel lousey. That will be the first and last flu injection for me.

2. I am a failed dieter. Several times I have lost lots of weight (28kgs last time), and got to my goal weight, but each time the weight creeps back on. Soooooo annoying!

3. I have two gorgeous girls but I don't get to see them very much. Except on Skype. One lives in Perth and the other in England.

4. I love chocolate and chips, not together. (this explains #2).

5. I have been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator since July 2007, but I still get really nervous before doing a workshop. I'm fine with things at my place, it's just when I go somewhere else, I worry about forgetting to take something.

6. I have been married for 33 years. Hubby tries to act interested when I show him the latest creation I have made. He never ceases to be amazed at all the things you need to make a card!

7. I used to play golf, but found it very frustrating. I would have these brilliant hits and then all these terrible ones, and never knew what I was doing any different from one to the other. Nowadays I would much rather spend my time doing paper crafts.

8. When I'm not making cards or planning my next card class or woekshop I am the manager of a local primary school canteen. It keeps me busy.

9. My husband does more of the housework than I do. He doesn't like cooking, but is great at everything else around the house, including doing his own ironing.

10. Now to end on a hight note, what can I tell you about myself that is good??? I won a rosette at the local show for a painting. Best in Show can't remember what year but it was quite a while ago. I even won some money too, I was very suprised.

This is my first blog hop and it's a little bit scary. I'm a bit of a novice at adding links and most things 'computer'. So I have my fingers crossed that all goes smoothly and all the links work. Thanks to Sandra and Cliff for their advice. I had a few nervous moments but I think the links are now ok.

Because I have been working on some "Punch Art" cards for my class next week I have been looking at lots of ideas for that, see my previous post. The first card here is as a result of that. Also as I live in a rural area I think that this card would appeal to lots of my regular customers and friends. This tractor is so gorgeous and I could see it easily being used on a scrapbook page as well as a card. I cased the idea from Isaiah40:31 over at SCS.

I sponged the background With Bashful Blue and Kiwi Kiss (used a scallop circle to mask and make the clouds). Stamped along the bottom with a stamp from Pocket Silhouettes using Old Olive ink. Punches used were: Large Tag, Slot, Word Window, medium heart from Heart to Heart, Scallop Circle (punched twice), 1 3/8" circle, 1 1/4" circle, 1" circle and the 1/2" circle. The brads are from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware Pack, and the sentiment is from Cheers to You. The cardstock used was Whisper White, Garden Green, Basic Black and More Mustard with a little piece of silver for the smoke stack.

The next card was very quick and easy with the whale stamp from Fox & Friends stamped in Ballet Blue and Going Grey, then cut out and mounted onto Bashful Blue cardstock. The bottom section was masked with a torn piece of scrap paper and sponged with various shades of blue ink. The Bashful Blue card was cut out with the Top Note Die and the Big Shot. All that was mounted on Night of Navy card stock.The sentiment is mounted onto a piece of Night of Navy punched out with the Curly Punch Bundle punch. This would be a lovely card for a male of any age.

My final masculine card is made with the jumbo wheel Very Vintage, available in the Autumn Winter mini catalogue. On first glance you wouldn't think that it would be suitable to use for a man's card, but by using masculine colours and a bit of distressing I think it looks good. The colours used were Really Rust, Soft Suede, Kraft and Chocolate Chip. The ink is Soft Suede and the accessories I used were the crimper,distressing tool, jumbo brads, scallop square punch, retired punch Spring Flower Bouquet and sponge daubber. The 'For You' is from Say It With Scallops.

Punch Art - Next Weeks Technique Class

Hi Everybody, I'm posting the photos of next weeks technique class today so that all of you who didn't get in to the class can see what you're missing. Plus all of those who are booked in can see what's in store for you.

Also,(the real reason I am showing you them so soon), I am taking part in a BLOG HOP on Thursday and I wont be able to post anything for a week or so after that, so that the Blog Hop stuff stays at the top of the page. I know there is a way to make certain things stay at the top of the page. I've seen it on other people's blogs, but I don't know how to do that, so thought if I put this up now everyone can see it. Don't forget to come back on Thursday evening or Friday and check out the INKlings Blog hop. The theme is Masculine Cards, Scrapbook pages and 3D items. Twenty members of the INKlings team are taking part so there should be plenty of inspiration for those hard to do masculine items.

Well, back to the Technique Class. I have to say I really love all three of these cards. I can't take credit for the clever ideas of putting these punched shapes together and coming up with these fabulous shapes. Whenever I am surfing the net and see a card I like I save it. So I have quite a few punch art cards stored away in a folder. When I decided to do Punch Art for the technique class, I just had a look in there and decide which to do.

The Heliconia flower card was one I saw recently. It was designed by the very clever Ann Fitzgerald, and uses the lovely new Stampin' Up! punch XL two step bird punch. The colours used for that card are Certainly Celery and Whisper White, and the ribbon is So Saffron.

The Owl Card, I'm not sure where I found that one. Sorry, I can't give credit where credit is due on that! It is cute though isn't it. There are so many different versions of owls on line, made with all sorts of different punches and dies. This one uses the branch from the XL two step bird punch, 1/2" circle, scallop circle, 1 3/4" circle, five petal flower, round tab and the retired spring flower bouquet punches, all by Stampin' Up!

The third card I cased from Andrea Walford's blog. I used my new 'Timeless Type Junior Alphabet die set and the Big Shot for this one. I'm so glad I bought it. I was so undecided about if I should order it or not! Then when I used it, it was so simple and easy to use and looks so great, I am so pleased that I did get it. If you punch out the card with the square punch first, that fits onto the letter on the die very easily and saves cutting out lots of letters that you didn't really want. There were a couple of other punches involved too! Otherwise it wouldn't be punch art would it!! I used the large oval and the 1/2" circle punches for the pod and the peas.

I am so pleased with how these cards have turned out. I keep looking at them and smiling :) I hope you like them too.

Here Are All the Stamp a Stack Cards

I finally got around to taking a couple of photos of all the Stamp a Stack cards for tomorrow night. So here they are, I hope you like them. I am just in the middle of setting up for tomorrow, but thought I would take a little break to show the cards to you. I had to come on to the computer to email Trish to ask her to bring a few things. That way we will have enough to go around (Punches etc).

The cards above all use the Medallion Stamp, and the ones below use various Stampin' Up! wheels.

Stamp a Stack- sneak peak.

You can tell the school holidays are over from the amount I have been posting on my blog - Not at all!! It just gets a bit busy with work and workshops and classes so sorry if you keep checking back and nothing has changed. I know how frustrating that can be.

The next Stamp a Stack, on Tuesday, is fully booked. So I thought I would give you all a sneak peak at a couple of the cards we will be making. We will be making five cards using the new Medallion stamp. The one pictured uses Soft Suede, Basic Black and Very Vanilla. I don't think this photo does it justice, I really like this card. The other five cards we are doing are all made using various Stampin Around Wheels. This one is So Swirly with a couple of the stamps from Baroque Motiff. The colours are Pixie Pink, Pink Passion and Whisper White. I have been trying to use up some of the colours that are retiring at the end of August, so several of the cards this coming week use those colours.

Next Tuesdays Technique of the Month Class

Over the last couple of days I've been preparing the packs for our next Technique of the Month Class. This month we are making a tote bag which holds five matching cards and envelopes. We will be using the One Sheet Wonder technique to decorate the tote and cards. This means you start off with one sheet of designer series paper or cardstock and you divide it up into pieces and use those pieces to decorate your project. For this project we are using half a sheet of the NEW Cottage Wall DSP from the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue. It co-ordinates beautifully with the Rich Razzelberry. Old Olive and Orchard Opulence cardstock. There is hardly any stamping on these cards, except for the sentiments. They are quick and easy, but still lovely.

Everyone who is booked in for this class, I hope that you are going to enjoy making these. They will be great to give as a gift. Once you see how simple it is to do, you will be able to make lots more!

Stamp Club Starts Tonight

The New Stamp Club starts tonight. Unfortunately not everyone can make it. They have phoned through their orders, but it's a shame they can't come. School holidays and busy lives!! Hopefully next month everyone will be here. Below is a photo of a little gift I have made for everyone in the club. They are covered notepads. Perfect for Wish Lists!

The next couple of photos are the project we are making tonight. A fold out card. I was given the instructions for this style card ages ago but I haven't gotten around to trying it until now. The person who gave them to me got the intructions from a friend, who according to her blog found them somewhere on the internet. So I'm not sure who actually came up with the design, but thank you whoever you are. I used the DSP 'Kaleidoscope' from the Summer Mini Catalogue. The other colours are Pixie Pink, Pink Passion Very Vanilla, Green Galore and So Saffron. I used 'Petal Pizzaz', 'Baroque Motifs' and 'Best Yet' Stamp sets, and the Slit, Spring Flower Bouquet (retired), Scallop circle and Scallop Edge Punches. We are making matching envelopes too.

This is a Housewarming card I made for a friend who has moved into a new home recently. I used the Jumbo Wheel 'Neighbourhood' and I coloured it with an Aqua painter and water colour crayons.The little trees in the background on the main part of the card are from the sale a bration set Good Neighbours. The cardstock is Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Close to Cocoa.

My first Colour Challenge

A couple of friends recently got into blogging and seem to be taking part in lots of sketches and colour challenges. (Hi Donna and Sandra!!). So I promised myself I would have a go at it as soon as I got the launch and the SAS done. So yesterday I did just that. I did my first colour challenge. It certainly was a challenge. I decided to try the Curtain Call Color Challenge found here: http://stampinwithstacey.blogspot.com/

I didn't look at any of the other cards that people had made before I did mine so that I wouldn't be influenced. I found it a real struggle using the colours, but then once I had finished and I did look at everyone elses I thought how good their cards looked. Why didn't I think of doing that? Whenever I looked at the colours they seemed so dull and I couldn't work out how to incorporate the Tempting Turquoise. I have to admit I hadn't noticed the Whisper White as one of the colours so there isn't much of that in my card as I wasn't sure about using it, I just used it to stamp the other colour onto. Oh well, not a bad card really, just not the colours I would usually use :)

Sharing what I have been up to this week.

I think I have already mentioned it a couple of times already, but for anyone who hasn't been paying attention, I had a Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue Launch on Tuesday night. It was great and I think everyone enjoyed it. I thought the three projects we did were lovely so hopefully so did all the ladies who came along. See for yourself. We made this really cute Top Note Box using the Baja Breeze card stock and Designer Series Paper.

A really quick and easy card with the New Melon Mambo card stock, and using the fabulous Stampin' Up! exclusive Textured Impressions embossing folder "Manhattan Flowers". The flower stamp is from Fifth Avenue Floral, this co-ordinates perfectly with the embossing folder. I CASED this card from Kari Hughes, (she sent me a card like this in a swap I took part in recently).

Finally we made the lovely card using the brand new style, 'XL two step bird punch', and the new 'Vintage Vogue' stamp set. I bought this stamp set in the clear mounted option so everyone got a chance to try out these stamps. I think that they were impressed too. The colours used here were Pale Plum and two more new In Colours, Rich Razzelberry and Soft Suede. The leaves are Old Olive and we used the 'Circle Scissors' to make that white circle in the background.

So after a busy night Tuesday I then had to head off first thing Wednesday morning to do a Stamp a Stack for the ladies at the Condingup CWA. My friend Trish came along with me which was a great help. We had a lovely morning with the ladies out there and they all made ten cards and then provided us with a delicious lunch. Thank You Ladies!!

Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue is Here!!

The Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue has been the most anticipated mini catalogue since I have been involved with Stampin' Up! There are so many new and exciting things in there it is just AMAZING!!

Since I saw the catalogue a month ago (demonstrators get a preview and the chance to pre order from new catalogues), I have been so excited and couldn't wait to be able to share it with everyone.

The first thing, at the top of my wish list was the Sizzix BIG SHOT!! Along with embossing folders and dies, some of which are exclusive to Stampin' Up! I have to admit it was/is a very long wish list.

There are three new punches in this catalogue and they are all a new style. My favorite is the Extra Large Two Step Bird Punch. I Love it! I'm sure you will too. I will be having one of my technique classes based only on things you can do with this punch. Keep an eye out for that in the next couple of months. Did you notice the three punches in the back left corner of this photo? They fold much flatter than the old style punch, so they wont take up as much space in your craft area.

Oh but there's more! Stampin' Up! have introduced clear mount rubber stamps. Enjoy the same great quality rubber & foam you are used to with our wood mounted stamps, in a new clear-mount option. The clear-mount stamp sets, come in a DVD sized plastic box, and take up very little room on a shelf. All the sets that are available in clear-mount can still be purchased in the wood mount style also, you decide.

The stamp sets featured in this mini are truely gorgeous, I want almost all of them.

That's only a selection of the NEW and EXCITING things in this mini catalogue. There are three new In-Colors, Designer Series Papers and so much more. I've been busy doing housework today!! That's a bit different for me! My Husband has been away and gets home this afternoon, so I thought I should make a bit of an effort and get the place looking nice.

I spent most of yesterday designing cards for a Stamp a Stack I am doing early next month at Condingup. Almost there just two more cards to do. Then I have to start cutting out the card etc and making up the packs for the ladies who will be attending. Here is a sneak peak at just one of the cards we will be making. Don't want to show all and spoil the surprise.

I have used the 'Petal Pizzazz' stamp set, Whisper White, Perfect Plum and Pale Plum cardstock. The inks are Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Always Artichoke and I used some Always Artichoke Grosgrain ribbon and the scallop edge punch. I hope you like it. More importantly I hope the ladies at Condi. like this and the other nine cards they will be making.

This flower was made using the five petal punch from Stampin' Up! Notice the leaves behind they are made by punching just part of the same punch, and lines for veins drawn on using my scorer.

Sorry everyone who has been checking here since the weekend to see what I have been up to. As promised here are some of the things I've been making. I don't want to show too much because then it will spoil the surprise for my Autumn / Winter Mini Catalogue Launch on April 6th.

These first two pictures are of the cards we made at last weeks Technique of the Month class. We used the Sweet Treat Cups and created the Gumball Machine card using the Something Sweet stamp set. That set is in the Summer Mini Catalogue and will only be available until the end of this month. If you were thinking of buying anything from the Summer Mini Catalogue, now is the time to do it!

The first picture is two cards using the Sweet Treat Cups to make a snowglobe. By filling the cup with water and a little glitter, sealing up the back of the cup with clear acertate and sticking a picture over that. We made the card with the fishes on using the Jumbo Wheel Something Fishy.

Here are the cards I made for a swap I joined on one of the Stampin' Up! demonstrator forums that I visit. We had to make 6 cards using products from the NEW Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. Soon I should be getting 6 different cards from other demonstrators. It will be great to see what they have done, and how they have used some of the products.

You might notice the similarity to the card I posted the other day. That was my first effort. I used Perfect Plum instead of Rich Razzelberry in that original card. For my swap cards I used a gorgeous stamp set called "Vintage Vogue". Not only are there lots of new stamp sets in the up coming Mini, most of them come in a choice of two styles. The regular wood mounted stamps, OR Clear Unmounted stamps!! I also used ink in one of the three NEW 'In Colors' Rich Razzelberry. It is such a lovely colour and I seem to be grabbing it each time I go to make something. The leaves around the flowers were made using one of the NEW style punches available in this mini. This particular one is called 'Extra Large Two Step Bird' and it is fabulous! The punches are a new design and can be clipped closed, so that they are much smaller than the usual punches for storage. Finally the main body of the card using Pale Plum cardstock has been embossed using the Stampin' Up! Textured Impressions Embossing folder 'Perfect Polka Dots' and the Big Shot.

That's right, you read it correctly!!!! As of 1st April Big Shot will be available through Stampin' Up! I am so excited about this and have been lucky enough to pre order my very own Big Shot and I am loving it.

The next card uses Rich Razzelberry and Pale Plum cardstock (again) with a little bit of Old Olive for the leaves and Watercolor paper for the rose. That large shape on the front is made with the Stampin' Up! Top Note Bigz Die, and the Big Shot (Love It!). I used the Rich Razzelberry and Pale Plum reinkers to watercolour the rose from 'Fifth Avenue Floral' stamp set and the sentiment is made using the Curly Label Punch set (stamp and punch). I made the leaves using my crimper.

This card was so simple to make and I think it looks quite elegant. The main part of the card is Kraft cardstock and I used the NEW Jumbo Wheel 'Very Vintage', using Sahara Sand ink as a background. The bird sitting on the branch is made using the NEW punch that I mentioned earlier 'Extra Large Two Step Bird'. I punched all three parts out of Basic Black cardstock and stuck it onto a piece of Urban Oasis DSP. Stamped the sentiment from the 'Embrace Life' stamp set. Mounted that on black card and attached it to the front of the card. Added Black grosgrain ribbon with a Rhinestone Brad and there you have it.

I hope you like this little sneak peak of some of the Amazing new things in the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue. It is very exciting!

I received some really exciting new products at the end of last week. Unfortunately I haven't had a lot of time to play with them yet. I had a Stamp Club meeting the day they arrived, and then had to get ready for a Technique class for Tuesday night. Since then we have had Athletic carnivals at school each day. So this weekend I am looking forward to really getting to know my new goodies!! Below are a couple of cards I made while having a quick play.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share with you two gorgeous cards that I received this week. The Black and White one is from Trish Jones and the Baja Breeze and Vanilla one is from Di Parkins. Thank you girls.

I also got a new camera, not sure if it will make any difference to the quality of my photos. We will just have to wait and see about that??

Think I might have to go and have a 'Nana Nap', I can hardly keep my eyes open and we are going out for dinner tonight.

This weeks Stamp a Stacks

Hi Everyone, hope all of you in WA had a great long weekend. I haven't been up to much except preparing for this weeks Stamp a Stacks. I have two this week. That was quite a lot of cutting out of card stock!! When I first made the cards I thought this was going to be a good, simple one to prepare for, but when you have 170 cards to prepare, no matter how simple, it is still a bit time consuming. Anyway, below are the pictures of what we are making. I hope you like them. I really love the ones in the bottom picture.

Is there anybody out there?

Whenever I am looking at other peoples blogs I have thought about leaving a message and saying that I like something, or whatever. I haven't ever manage to do it though. It always seems like a complicated procedure! You need to sign in on your Google account or something like that, and I have always thought it was too hard, and just given up.

Today I came across "Cbox" and I actually managed to very easily leave a message for the lady who's blog I was looking at. So I have installed it here, see to the right of the screen. Hopefully someone will leave a message and I will know that someone looks at my blog. I don't have a counter on here, so I have absolutely no idea how many, or if anyone is looking. Just say hello so that I know you are out there :)

Phew! last weeks Stamp a Stack was a real marathon. Hopefully I have learnt to keep it simple from now on. Sorry to the ladies who may have found it a bit of a hard slog. Some of you, it didn't seem to worry and you got through all those cards without even breaking a sweat. :)

The next class is next Tuesday 16th February and that is a technique class. We are doing Masking and Reverse Masking. Here are the cards we will be making.

At Last weekends workshop, everyone had fun trying out a few different techniques and getting some hands-on experience with some of the tools that they may not have used before. We used the stamp-a-ma-jig, stamp placement tool. This was used to make sure that the second stamp from the 'two step stamps' went in exactly the right place. They also enjoyed doing some colouring in using Watercolour Pencils and Watercolour Crayons. To finish off the session everyone made a lovely Valentine's Day card using the Raspberry Tart DSP and lots of the Stampin' Up! punches. The punches used were: Heart to Heart, Eyelet Edge, Scalloped Oval, Wide Oval and the Butterfly Punch.

Here are the cards I made from the samples I demonstrated:

This little tag card and the next two cards, are from demonstrating the different colouring-in methods. I used Stampin Markers, Watercolour Pencils and Watercolour Crayons along with the Aqua Painter to blend the colours.

These two cards are the Valentine's Day card I mentioned earlier plus a card using Trendy Trees stamp set (I used the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig for the two step stamping. Plus the Stampin Wheel "Funky Forest"). I inked up the wheel using an Old Olive ink pad, then using the Stampin Write Markers went over the tree trunks with Chocolate Chip before wheeling it onto the card. Such an easy way to get a two tone effect with a wheel. Because the Chocolate Chip ink is darker than the Old Olive it doesn't effect the marker by going over the already inked wheel. If you do get a little discolouration using this method, simply scribble the marker on some scrap paper until it comes clean and back to it's original colour.
